Venture Partnerships

For a few ideas, we become the technical co-founder.

Cadmus selectively partners with researchers, operators and domain experts to turn defensible ideas into real software businesses.

Not an accelerator. Not outsourced development. A shared commitment to build, launch and improve a serious product.

Model Co-building
Contribution Product + engineering
Outcome Shared upside

An idea alone is not enough.

The partnerships that interest us begin with something difficult to reproduce: original research, hard-won domain knowledge, meaningful access to a market or a genuinely differentiated technical insight.

When that advantage is real—and the person behind it is prepared to lead—we can provide the product judgment and engineering capacity needed to turn it into a company.

What each side brings

Partner

You bring

  • Domain expertise
  • Original research or intellectual property
  • A precise understanding of the problem
  • Access to users or a credible route to market
  • The commitment to lead the venture

Cadmus

Cadmus brings

  • Product strategy
  • Interface and product design
  • Software and infrastructure engineering
  • Technical leadership
  • Launch and continued development

How it works

Five steps before we build.

  1. 01

    Examine the advantage

We assess the problem, market, founder commitment, defensibility and technical feasibility.

  2. 02

    Validate before building

We challenge the assumptions, speak to potential users and define the smallest serious product worth launching.

  3. 03

    Structure the partnership

Responsibilities, milestones, intellectual property, governance and commercial terms are agreed before development begins.

  4. 04

    Build together

Cadmus becomes the product and technical function—not an outsourced team waiting for instructions.

  5. 05

    Share the outcome

The venture grows under a fixed-term revenue participation, equity or hybrid arrangement defined by the agreement.

Active partnership United States Privacy-focused communications

Research, met by execution.

One current partnership began with a US-based PhD mathematician who had developed a proprietary cryptographic approach but lacked the product and mobile-engineering capability required to bring it to market.

He leads the underlying research. Cadmus is shaping and building the communications product around it. Instead of a conventional development contract, the collaboration is structured around shared commercial upside, with the originator retaining the majority economics.

Specific details remain private while the underlying research and product are under development.

Structures

The structure follows the contribution—not a fixed template.

Fixed-term revenue participation

Cadmus contributes defined product and engineering work in exchange for an agreed share of revenue over a defined period.

Equity partnership

Cadmus participates as a long-term company-building partner when the venture and governance model justify deeper ownership.

Hybrid arrangement

A reduced cash contribution is combined with revenue participation or equity to balance commitment, risk and delivery scope.

No percentage, duration or ownership structure is standard. Every agreement reflects the stage, risk, intellectual property, market evidence and contribution of both parties.

What we look for

Fit before enthusiasm.

Worth a conversation

  • Research with credible technical or commercial potential
  • Hard-won expertise in a specific industry
  • Original intellectual property or a defensible insight
  • Evidence that a meaningful problem exists
  • Access to prospective users, buyers or distribution
  • A founder prepared to lead after launch

Not what this is for

  • An unvalidated idea with no meaningful advantage
  • A copy of an existing app
  • Someone looking only for free development
  • A founder unwilling to commit time or responsibility
  • A project without a credible route to users or revenue
  • A request for Cadmus to assume all risk and execution
